National Certificates

Fire safety training is critical, both in keeping New Zealanders safe and ensuring our industry upholds its professional reputation.

The National Certificate Levels 3 and 4 are designed for people moving into or already employed in the fire protection industry. They include Fire Detection and Alarm Systems Testing, Fixed Fire Protection Systems Testing, Fixed Fire Protection Systems Installation, Hand Operated Fire Fighting Equipment and Fire Systems Technology Inspection and Testing.

Student Mentoring

Level 3 National Certificates

The Level 3 National Certificate can take up to three years to complete depending on a student's prior knowledge and experience. We work with each student to identify what unit standards need to be done to complete the fire protection industry qualification.

We provide the following fire safety and protection training courses:

The Fire Detection and Alarm Systems Testing Level 3 qualification is designed for people in the fire protection industry, whose work involves inspection and testing of fire detection and alarm systems.

Fixed Fire Protection Systems – Installation and Testing Level 3 qualifications are designed for people in the fire protection industry, whose work involves either the installation of fire sprinkler systems, or the testing of fire sprinkler systems and fixed special hazards fire protection systems.

The Hand Operated Fire Fighting Equipment Level 3 qualification is designed for people in the fire protection industry, whose work involves surveying, selection, installation, commissioning and maintenance of hand-operated fire fighting equipment.

Level 4 National Certificates

The Fire Systems Technology Inspection & Testing Level 4 qualification is designed for technicians in the fire protection industry, whose work involves the installation and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems.

The Fixed Fire Protection Systems Level 4 qualification is designed for people in the fire protection industry whose work involves installing, commissioning, testing and servicing fire sprinkler systems and special hazards fixed fire protection systems.
